Following several cases in which a child was removed from his parents’ custody, Dr. Gil Siegal, Director of the Research Institute for Medical Law and Bioethics at Ono Academic College, spoke to The Market about on the law regarding the rights of a minor patient. He explained, “Parents do not really have rights over their child. The child is not their property. The State has granted them full the right to meet all of the obligations to care for him because for the biological connection, but this custody is not irrevocable.”
