Ono Academic College hosted 25 students from China and the heads of several Israeli municipalities on the Main Campus. Half the visiting students are studying Hebrew and the other half, Arabic, at universities in China. The students spoke with both lecturers and their Israeli peers, and were impressed by the atmosphere at OAC. They also heard a lecture by Dr. Miriam Haran, chair of the program in Environmental Management at OAC, who spoke about the environment in Israel, with emphasis on water systems and Israeli inventions in the field. Dr. Avi Mazor, a specialist in creating business and trade relations between China and Israel, talked to members of the delegation about the possibilities available to them in the field. Doron Haran, Vice Chairman of Ono Academic College, gave an overview of higher education in Israel and Ono’sefforts to facilitate changes in Israeli society. Dr. Ilan (Daniels) Rahimi, Director of Academic and Social Development and Head of the Specialization in Information Systems Analysis and Entrepreneurship, welcomed the guests and accompanied them during the day.

 

Also participating in the meeting were the mayors of muncipalities around Israel Dr. Hajirat of Bir Al-Masour, Moshik Lipetz of Savion, Nasser Sanallah of Bir al-Asad, Yossi Nishri, of Kiryat Ono, and Moshe Sinai, of Rosh Ha’ayin, as well as Anwar Alshiekha and Eilon Abunatzira of Ono Academic College.
