Ono Staff Visits Georgia for Erasmus+ LoveDist@nce Project  Co-funded by the European Union

Prof. Tsipi Heart, Director of the Science and Technology School, at Ono Academic College’s School of Business Administration, and Dr. Naama Katz, Director of the Organizational Training Development and Simulation Center, visited the country of Georgia as representatives of Ono in the framework of a Monitoring Visit for the LoveDist@nce Erasmus+ program, co-funded by the European Union. Project participants visited Batumi, Tbilisi and Telavi, where they participated in seminars at Telavi State University, Shota Rustaveli State University and Ilia State University.

This visit is part of a joint learning and work process between faculty members of Ono Academic College together with academic institutions in Israel (Levinsky College of Education and MEITAL) and in Europe (Georgia, Romania, Spain, Portugal). The group has been working together for the past three years with the aim of promoting equitable distance learning. During this visit, Prof. Heart and Dr. Katz participated in the evaluation of the impact of the pilot projects in distance learning on the three universities that are members of the consortium in Georgia.

The aim of the visit was to share experience about distance learning and hold discussions on existing challenges and relevant recommendations. The visit included meetings with academic staff and students from the institutions in Georgia and monitoring of the unique academic courses developed within the framework of the project. The visits yielded many insights regarding academic inclusion, online and distance teaching that will optimize future teaching at Ono Academic College and the other institutions involved in the project.

Now, we are in the midst of planning for the project members to visit Israel at the end of the January, 2023.
