Ono Master Class and Concert Featuring Mizrahi Music

Ono Academic College’s School of Music will hold a master class and a unique multicultural performance with Yinon Mualem (oud, percussion and vocals) with Saman Elias (clarinet).  The event combines works from the musical cultures of the Mediterranean and Southwest Asia, combined with jazz elements and virtuoso solo pieces.

Yinon Mualem is one of the leading artists of the Mizrahi (Eastern) music genre in Israel. He has spent many years in Turkey, where he collaborated with renowned musicians such as Ros Daly, Omar Farouk, Tekbilek and others.

Saman Elias, a clarinet artist, is the scion of a Jewish family from Sulaymaniyah, in the Kurdish region of Iraq.

The two met in Stockholm, found a common musical language and began performing and recording together around the world.

The event takes place, Monday, 13.1.25, between 16:15–17:45 in the Schulich Concert Hall, Ono Academic College, Central Kiryat Ono Campus
