Ono Professor, Amichai Cohen, was interviewed on the “National Interest“ radio program broadcast on Radio Tel Aviv, regarding the ongoing negotiations between MK Itamar Ben Gvir and the incoming Netanyahu government. Ben Gvir is requesting special ministerial powers that will give him authority over Israel’s police. These negotiations, which would require a change in the law and have been very controversial.
Prof. Cohen discussed the legal opinion he submitted opposing a proposed law change in the current law to allow a radical increase in ministerial powers vis a vis the police.
