Ono Marks Simchat Torah 2025

The Jewish people just celebrated the Simchat Torah holiday which occurs on the 22nd of the month of Tishrei. The day marks, among other things, the end of the annual cycle of Torah reading and its beginning anew. On this day, the last portion of the five Books of Moses, as well as the first portion of the Book of Genesis, are read.

On this day on the Hebrew calendar, two years ago, we awoke to the horrors of October 7th.  This year, the entire country and the entire Jewish world waited with bated breath, for the return of the hostages, and while mourning those lost, cheered those who were reunited with their families.  May the upcoming year bring more such tidings.
