The 16th meeting of the Beit Midrash for the Study of Ethiopian Jewish Religious Texts at Ono Academic College took place at the Savyon Junction Campus. The session focused on a presentation by Beit Midrash participant Manberu Shimon, on the topic of “A nation of priests, and a holy nation”: An alternative spiritual leadership or a mystical cult? “Mor Malkomo Desse” as a test case. He analyzed the phenomenon of this complicated and charismatic spiritual leader.
