Love.Dist1@nce from Barcelona

A group of six faculty members from Ono Academic College is participating this week July 3-8, 2022 in a multinational seminar in Barcelona. The seminar is a meeting of the LOVE.DIST@NCE project funded by the ERASMUS program of the European Union, with representatives from academic institutions in Spain, Portugal, Georgia, Romania and Israel.
The LOVE.DIST@NCE project is designed to improve the accessibility and quality of higher education by developing online tools for courses in academia, especially for diverse and multicultural populations, and populations that are not part of the mainstream in their society. The project focuses on educational opportunities for minority ethnic groups, persons in disadvantaged situations and students with disabilities.
The project was launched before the onset of Covid. The pandemic that befell us emphasized how important it is to develop online courses that are suitable for all populations.
The encounter with so many countries and institutions broadens the horizons of all participants and gives everyone a great deal of information about the conduct of online courses in the participating countries. The informal meetings during breaks and leisure time give everyone the opportunity to get to know each other closely and exchange views, and is an exciting element of the seminar.
Participants in the project consist of the following institutions: Polytechnic Institute of Porto (IPP), Iberoamerican University Foundation (FUNIBER), University of Vigo (UVIGO), Technical University of Cluj Napoca (UTCN), Ilia State University (ISU), Iakob Gogichaishvili Telavi State University (TeSaU), Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University (BSU), Ono Academic College (OAC), Levinsky College of Education (LCE), and Meital Inter-University Center for e-Learning (IUCEL).
Ono is represented in Barcelona by Prof. Tsipi Heart, Dr. Itzik Gnizy, Dr. Naama Katz, Dr. Orit Lahav, Eyal Laifer and Judy Arad.
