LOVE.DIST@NCE PROJECT

In 2020, Ono Academic College founded an Erasmus+ Project of the European Union together with nine other academic institutions. Three institutions from Israel and another seven institutions in the countries of Portugal, Spain, Romania and Georgia are partners in the project. These days the members of the project continue to work towards the completion of the tasks, after being postponed due to Covid 19. The project includes intensive team work in all the institutions, Zoom meetings and in the participating countries, and the preparation of learning materials for distribution.

Project Summary: Project LOVE.DIST@NCE aims to promote inclusive education in Israel and Georgia by widening access to higher education for potential and existing students from vulnerable groups, religious and ethnic minorities, refugees, student-workers and students living at peripheral/distant/rural areas.
General goals for this project include:

  • Build capacities in Israel and Georgia that will enable their HE systems to accommodate effective distance learning programs. These capabilities should relate to institutional, staff and student readiness as well as bridging knowledge gaps;
  • Develop curricula offered in Israel and Georgia based on distance learning, that responds to the requirements for equity and accessibility of the partner countries HE systems to improve the educational integration of disadvantaged learners in their educational system (identified target groups).
  • Facilitate accessibility to teaching and learning materials in electronic format for students from the identified target groups;
  • Coach and train faculty members, professional and administrative staff on the design, development, implementation and quality assessment of e/blended-learning and distance education courses;
  • Raise the public awareness of access to, equity, and democratization of HE, to promote social inclusion;
  • Facilitate transfer of best practices to expand access to, participation in, and successful completion of distance learning programs.

Ono Academics Participate in a LOVE.DIST@NCE Seminar in Barcelona

In July 2022, a group of six faculty members from Ono Academic College is participated in a multinational seminar in Barcelona. The seminar is a meeting of the LOVE.DIST@NCE project funded by the ERASMUS program of the European Union, with representatives from academic institutions in Spain, Portugal, Georgia, Romania and Israel. Ono Hosts European LOVE.DIST@NCE/Erasmus Distance Learning Workshop

Ono Academic College was proud to host the Erasmus+ LOVE.DIST@NCE – Learning Optimization and Academic Inclusion via Equitative Distance Teaching and Learning Project Meeting and Workshop during the week of 14-18 March 2022 in Tel Aviv, Israel. The meeting is the culmination of two years of collaboration with Israeli and European partners.
