
Dr. Jonathan Bezalel has served in senior roles in the public sector in recent years. He currently serves as Deputy Director General for Infrastructure Coordination & Budgeting at the Infrastructure Administration, Ministry of Transport, responsible for the coordinated budgetary management of Israel’s national roads and rail projects—amounting to tens of billions of NIS per year—with the country’s leading infrastructure companies. His portfolio includes leading multi-annual planning and budgeting, prioritization and resource allocation, and performance tracking. The role involves a close interface with the Ministry of Finance’s Budget Department, membership in joint committees with the Accountant General and support for PPP transactions, alongside the development of framework agreements and engagement models and the implementation of KPIs.
Previously, Dr. Bezalel held positions at the Ministry of Economy (2022–2025) as Deputy Director General for Budgets and Price Supervisor; and at the Accountant General’s Office, Ministry of Finance (2010–2022) as a Senior Economist at the Government Procurement Administration, Deputy Chief Accountant at the Ministry of Energy, and Chief Accountant for auxiliary units of the Prime Minister’s Office (2017–2022). In parallel, he served as Chief Financial Officer at the Government Tourism Company (2020–2021).
He began his career as an Economist at the Bank of Israel (2004–2006) and as a Procurement Analyst at Intel (2006–2008).
Dr. Bezalel has been a full-time faculty member in the School of Business Administration at Ono Academic College since 2022.
