Advertisement for Yasmine Levy Concert

Ono Academic College’s School of Music, and its director, Maestro Yaron Gottfried, together with the Rishon LeZion Symphony Orchestra, are hosting the Ladino singer, Yasmine Levy, and will be performing a colorful, warm and emotional program dedicated to Tango and Ladino (Judeo-Spanish language) songs, arranged for the symphony by Gottfried.

 

Yasmine Levy first achieved fame through her singing of Ladino songs. Her deep voice and her soulful singing touched many diverse audiences and she became an international star in the world music category.

 

Her albums and performances earned her rave reviews from the most respected music critics in the world when she performed at the Sydney Opera House, Carnegie Hall in New York, the Beacon in London and more.

 

Levy’s tango album, using Yaron Gottfried’s arrangements, was released by the Harmonia Mundi label and achieved great success.

 

This concert will open with a suite by Manuel de Falla, as one of Spain’s best 20th century composers. The piece is based on an ancient Spanish story about a miller, his beautiful young wife, and a judge whose passion is unrelenting. Other songs on the program include: Hasta Siempre Amor, La Cumparsita Los Mareados, Y Todavía Te Quiero Una Noche Mas, Adio Kerida.

 

The concert will take place Tuesday 7.5.24 at 20:00 in Ono Academic College’s concert hall located at 1 Academic Boulevard, Kiryat Ono
