Ono Academic College is proud to announce that an academic paper by Dr. Naomi Ferziger, the Academic Director of Ono’s new International School, will be published in the prestigious journal, DEVELOPMENTAL MEDICINE AND CHILD NEUROLOGY. Ferziger, who is a senior lecturer and former head of the Department of Occupational Therapy at Ono, is listed as first author on the article, together with her scientific mentors Prof. Ruth Feldman and Prof. Ari Zivotofsky. The article was selected by the Editor in Chief as a “key paper in the January 2026 issue.”
The article is titled “Gaze responses in children with cerebral palsy, cerebral visual impairment, and severe intellectual and developmental disabilities”. The preface to the issue, authored by Dr. Richard Bowman, a London-based and Cambridge-educated ophthalmic surgeon and researcher, notes, “These authors are to be congratulated for providing some interesting supportive evidence through careful research—a significant contribution to our understanding of visual processing in children with complex neurodevelopmental conditions…..This study provides compelling evidence that thoughtful environmental adaptations and multisensory approaches can enhance visual engagement in children with severe neurodevelopmental conditions.”
Congratulations Dr. Ferziger!
