The Independence Day of the State of Israel is a national holiday, marking the declaration of the establishment of the State of Israel at the end of the British Mandate period.
Independence Day falls on the Hebrew date of the 5th of Iyar and immediately after the Day of Remembrance for the Fallen in Israel’s Systems and Victims of Hostile Actions.
On Friday, the 5th of Iyar, 1958, at 4:00 PM, the Chairman of the People’s Administration, David Ben-Gurion, declared the establishment of the State of Israel in a festive ceremony, hence this date was set for Independence Day.
This day is expressed in a series of official ceremonies and events and is a Sabbath day.
We wish you and your families a happy Independence Day.

Head of the Religious Zionism Administration
