Perhaps it would be worthwhile to consider a completely different model: Judges are appointed, at least in certain areas, for a limited period, either alone or alongside veteran judge. Perhaps, being a judge need not be a career, but a public services, and the community of lawyers needs to sign-on for the task. Perhaps, the ultimate &lsquo;jury,&rsquo; without the evils imported from America, would be a lawyer appointed <\/span><em style=\"text-align: justify; font-size: 12px;\">ad hoc<\/em><span style=\"text-align: justify; font-size: 12px;\">, similar to the public representatives in the Labor Courts today. Why shouldn&rsquo;t courts consist of two judges and a third chosen from among the community of lawyers? Why shouldn&rsquo;t another voice be heard? Why can&rsquo;t their presence and weight counterbalance an inattentive judge?
