He started out studying medicine. But something was missing.<\/p>\n
Professor Gil Siegal was following a path that seemed almost inevitable. His father was a well-known surgeon, and he was studying to become a doctor himself. But he wasn\u2019t happy.<\/p>\n
Then his father gave him a piece of advice that would change the course of his career:<\/p>\n
\u201cStudy law. In medicine, you learn and absorb. In law, you can shape reality.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/strong><\/p>\n So he did both.<\/p>\n Medicine in the mornings. Law in the afternoons.<\/p>\n That unusual combination would eventually place Professor Siegal at the intersection of some of the most complex questions in healthcare, law, and ethics.
