Established in 1909, the OOC is the longest-running ophthalmological meeting in the UK, bringing together leading global specialists.<\/div>\r\n<div>\r\n<div class=\"adm\">\r\n<div id=\"q_1208\" class=\"ajR h4\" data-tooltip=\"\u05d4\u05e1\u05ea\u05e8\u05ea \u05ea\u05d5\u05db\u05df \u05de\u05d5\u05e8\u05d7\u05d1\" aria-label=\"\u05d4\u05e1\u05ea\u05e8\u05ea \u05ea\u05d5\u05db\u05df \u05de\u05d5\u05e8\u05d7\u05d1\" aria-expanded=\"true\">\r\n<div class=\"ajT\">\u00a0<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<div class=\"im\">\r\n<div>Naomi\u2019s presentation spotlighted a crucial, overlooked area in pediatric neuro-rehabilitation:\u00a0<b>&#8220;Cerebral Visual Impairment in Children with Cerebral Palsy: Evaluating Gaze Responses to Unimodal and Bimodal Stimuli.&#8221;<\/b><\/div>\r\n<div><b>The Clinical Challenge:<\/b>\u00a0Cerebral Visual Impairment (CVI) affects 60% to 70% of children with Cerebral Palsy (CP). While their functional vision is profoundly compromised, unlocking and measuring their residual visual abilities is vital for enhancing their communication, learning, and quality of life.<\/div>\r\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\r\n<div><b>The Breakthrough: &#8220;Sensory Enhancement.&#8221;<\/b>\u00a0Using millisecond-by-millisecond computerized microanalysis of gaze responses, the study revealed that\u00a0<span style=\"margin: 0px;padding: 0px\">although children with CVI exhibit slower visual processing,\u00a0<strong>pairing visual targets with auditory or tactile cues (bimodal stimulation) significantly increases<\/strong><\/span><b>\u00a0their visual engagement.<\/b><\/div>\r\n<div><b>Moving From Lab to Life:<\/b> By quantifying gaze, this study provides an empirical baseline to design better therapeutic and educational environments.
