Ono Academic College is pleased to present the next installment of Ono Salon, conversations with leaders and pioneers in the field of creative and expressive arts therapies who will address key aspects of their work then and now with Bruce Moon<\/strong>, Professor Emeritus, at Mount Mary University. Bruce is an art therapist, educator, artist, and singer\/songwriter who has recorded several albums (29 LPs on Spotify, Apple Music, etc.). \u00a0The meeting will take place by zoom on:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

This approach is meant to be thought-provoking and accessible to all, including artists, researchers, practitioners, educators, therapists, community workers and students. Presented\u00a0by Ono Academic College and hosted by Dr. Michal Lev, Lecturer at Ono Academic College and Prof. Vivien Marcow Speiser, Professor Emerita, Lesley University.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

In addition to being an art therapist, educator, artist, and singer\/songwriter, Bruce Moon is an Honorary Life Member (HLM) of the\u00a0American Art Therapy Association<\/a>\u00a0(AATA), the most prestigious honor given by the AATA. He is the author of\u00a0Existential Art Therapy: The Canvas Mirror<\/em>;\u00a0Essentials of Art Therapy Education and Practice<\/em>;\u00a0Art and Soul: Reflections on an Artistic Psychology<\/em>;\u00a0Art-Based Group Therapy: Theory and Practice, and more<\/em>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Brucespent a lifetime blurring the boundaries between art, therapy, and music, embodying the philosophy that life itself can be one continuous art piece. In this intimate conversation, he will share how he has evolved his practice\u2014using music as a bridge for building community, deepening relationships, and fostering creative expression. Moon describes his process as \u201cresponsive artmaking\u201d, an ever-evolving dialogue between artistic practice and human connection. While he resists the need to define or write about his philosophy, his work speaks for itself\u2014fluid, raw, and deeply impactful.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Michal Lev<\/strong>, PhD, is an art-based researcher, an accredited board-certified art therapist & supervisor, a group facilitator, and a certified integrative family psychotherapist. She is\u00a0a lecturer at Ono Academic College, School of\u00a0 Society and the Arts, a guest lecturer at the Weitzman Institute of Science, and a creator of academic programs worldwide. Her published research and presentations focus on intimacy, creative process-oriented pedagogy, and expressive therapies. Dr. Lev serves as an executive committee member of the International Association for Creative Arts in Education and Therapy (IACAET<\/a>) and a co-editor for the open-access Journal \u2013 CAET<\/a>. As a social activist, artist, and entrepreneur, she co-hosts the podcast In Between<\/em><\/a> about the human experience and maintains artmaking for innovation, inquiry, and knowledge.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Vivien Marcow Speiser, PhD, LMHC, NCC, BC-DMT, REAT<\/strong>, is a Professor Emerita and Co- Director of the Institute of Arts and Health at Lesley University, in Cambridge,\u00a0Massachusetts. She has directed and taught in programs across the United States and internationally and has used the arts as a way of learning, communicating across borders and\u00a0across cultures. She believes in the power of the arts to create the conditions for personal and social change. She consults with educational and other organizations on program\u00a0development and implementation regionally, nationally and internationally. Her work across the globe has garnered recognition and made her an international leader in dance and\u00a0expressive therapies. She received the 2014 Distinguished Fellows Award from the Global Alliance for Arts and Health, a 2015 Honorary Fellow Lifetime Achievement award\u00a0from the Israeli Expressive and Creative Arts Therapy Association and, more recently, the 2019 Lifetime Achievement award in Applied Arts and Health as well as a Fulbright\u00a0Senior Scholar and Specialist awards in 2020 and 2023 and 2024.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
