This year it falls on the evening of June 4<sup>th<\/sup> and the day of June 5<sup>th<\/sup>, 2024. The holiday marks the reunification of the city of Jerusalem which took place during the Six Day War in 1967.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The national holiday was established by the Knesset in the &#8220;Jerusalem Day Law&#8221;.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>In addition to its official name, some call the day Jerusalem Liberation Day, Jerusalem Freedom Day<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>or Jerusalem Reunification Day.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The State of Israel also designated this day to be a memorial to all the Ethiopian Jews (Beta Israel) who perished while making Aliyah.
