A graduate of the Jerusalem Academy of Music, where he studied guitar with Steve Peskoff and composition with Slava Ganelin, Albalak was awarded numerous prizes and scholarships, including the America-Israel Cultural Foundation scholarship, the Jazz Performer Competition, and more.

His wide-ranging and distinctive musical activity spans multiple genres—from jazz, electronic music, psychedelia, and rock, to modern-classical and avant-garde. He is a core member of several acclaimed projects and ensembles, performing in Israel and abroad, including Geshem, Apifera, Big Vicious, and Live Beat Tapes.

For the past two decades, Albalak has collaborated with artists across a variety of mediums such as dance, film, animation, television, theater, video art, and video games. He has worked with many of Israel’s leading musicians and ensembles, among them: Matti Caspi, Shalom Hanoch, Shlomo Gronich, Avishai Cohen, Marina Maximilian Blumin, Shai Maestro, Shlomi Shaban, Shuly Rand, Eli Magen, Shlomo Yidov, the Israel Jazz Orchestra, the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, The Revolution Orchestra, Buttering Trio, Metropolin, and many more.
