A student of Esther Narkis and Prof. Alexander Volkov; he completed his undergraduate studies under Prof. Eitan Globerson at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance.
He pursued his master’s degree under the guidance of Prof. Michael Boguslavsky at the Jerusalem Academy and continued to earn a Doctorate at Stony Brook University, studying with Gilbert Kalish and chamber music with members of the Emerson Quartet.
An active chamber pianist, Slapak’s concert repertoire combines solo piano works with diverse chamber music genres, including art songs, piano four-hands, two-piano works, and pieces from the canon of piano and string chamber literature. Over the years, he has collaborated with prominent artists in Israel and abroad.
In parallel with his performance career, he teaches extensively at conservatories and at the university level, focusing on piano and chamber music. He is also deeply engaged in tonal music analysis, particularly Schenkerian analysis and formal theory.
Another aspect of his musical work involves making art music accessible through guided concerts for the general public.
